Charity & Community Focus

Every Season We Support Many Local Charities & Causes in our Communities

We are the GDSFC

Glasgow & District Sunday Football Championship (GDSFC) was founded in 2008 for local teams to come together in competitive, amateur Sunday football league action. We’ve grown season upon season since that first ball was kicked. Built on charity, we donate £1,000s every season to give back to our local community. We believe football can be a force for good on and off the pitch; this is our mission.

What are you waiting for?

Our amateur football leagues have risen from several teams back in 2008, to a 75 strong, 6 division organisation. Officially affiliated under the Scottish Amateur Football Association, our teams regularly compete in nationwide SAFA cup competitions. With ultra competitive league action across the divisions and proud cup heritage to fight for, we believe the GDSFC is the prime proving ground for Sunday League amateur teams around Glasgow.

Whether you’re a team looking for a league or a player looking for a team, we can help get you involved in Sunday league amateur football. We work with several corporate and charitable partners to continue providing some of the best action on and off the pitch for our local communities.

Show Racism the Red Card

It’s 2026, and still, racism exists in almost every facet of our society. That’s not right. We’re proud to be partnered with Show Racism The Red Card, the UK’s largest anti-racism educational charity. Established in 1996 by English goalkeeper Shaka Hislop, Show Racism The Red Card aim to tackle racism and educate people to the facts and consequences racism has.

The idea that professional footballers, as role models, could affect change was the starting block for SRtRC, but even at an amateur level, we have a platform to make a difference, and to champion the message that racism in any form is unacceptable. Throughout our teams, throughout our league, from the football on the field to our representation in the community, we stand firmly against racism. As well as a visual message of red cards, reinforcing this message before games across the season, we will work with SRtRC to hold workshops, to continue to educate and tackle racism wherever we see it.
